Akrapovič has reimagined the acoustics of Audi's 5.2 FSI V10 in the 2016–2018 R8 with its Slip-On Line Titanium exhaust. Ultra-lightweight high-grade titanium alloy improves the R8's power-to-weight ratio by shedding 43 lbs (57% of the stock weight). The system is precision-engineered to increase max horsepower by 11.3 hp at 5,950 rpm and max torque by 14.8 lb-ft at 6,050 rpm. A combination of specialized mufflers, secondary resonators, and titanium dual-mode exhaust valves improves throttle response and reduces back pressure. An exquisite finishing touch is the hand-crafted carbon fiber and titanium exhaust tips, fitting perfectly into the R8's stock diffuser. Special development went into tuning the exhaust note, ensuring a comfortable tone inside the cockpit with a pleasant growl at low revs to a race-inspired sound as the revs rise.
